After School Math Club

The Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St., is offering students in grades 3 through 6 a chance to gather after school to share their love for math. The library's After School Math Club will be held on Tuesday nights from 5:30-6:30 beginning March 2 and continuing through May 31. Registration is recommended and may be done by calling the library at 262.636.9245 or by visiting the registration site online at www.racinelibrary.info.

The After School Math Club will be facilitated by Sandeep Reddy (7th Grade), a Hilpert Scholar from The Prairie School. Featuring math enrichment activities, new problem solving techniques and homework tutoring, the club provides an entertaining place for students to learn and share with their fellow math lovers.

Reddy was a regional finalist invited to participate in the 2009 NSF Math Bee Nationals in Maryland. He has many math accomplishments, including a first place finish and invitation to the state competition in the 2011 regional Math Counts team event.

Reddy has presented two math workshops at the Racine Public Library, "Learning Math the Fun Way" and "Creative Math for Grades Four Through Six." He was also the facilitator of the 2010 After School Math Club last year at the Racine Public Library.

To register for the After School Math Club, contact the Racine Public Library at (262) 636-9245 or register online at racinelibrary.info.
