Wedneday, April 30: Celebrate Día De Los Niños

El Día de los Niños, or the Day of the Children is a gift from the Latino community to all children. Many nations throughout the world celebrate "Día de los Niños" on April 30th to honor and celebrate children—who represent the hope and dreams of every community.

In the United States, a growing number of cities, schools, libraries, museums, churches and other community organizations are embracing this celebration by planning fun and exciting events designed to capture children's imaginations, involve family and community, and to inspire new generations of achievers.

The Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St., is hosting a Día de los Niños celebration on Wednesday, April 30 from 6-8 p.m. with a special performance by Mad Science of Milwaukee, bilingual storytelling, science activities, crafts, and refreshments. The program is free and open to all; no registration is required.

Mad Science of Milwaukee presents spectacular science-themed shows designed to amaze and entertain young audiences of any size. Highly interactive, educational and entertaining, the program offers children experiences such as foggy dry ice storms, floating on a Mad Science hovercraft, watching a foam factory at work and much more.

Mad Science is the world's leading provider of science enrichment for children. They have sparked imaginative learning with unique educational live programs for more than two decades.

Questions about this and future children's programs may be directed to the Racine Public Library at 262.636.9245.
