Racine Public Library Circulation Tops One Million

On Thursday, December 10, the Racine Public Library expects to reach a milestone: one million items checked out in 2009! The Library invites you to help celebrate one million checkouts by joining us for refreshments at 4:30pm in the Youth Services Department.

When economic times are tough, library services become even more crucial and usage rises. For the Racine Public Library, ten percent more people are checking out materials, and twenty percent more people are registering for library cards. More people are attending programs, borrowing items from other libraries, asking the staff more questions, using the Internet, and researching homework assignments.

A recent study has shown that for every dollar invested in the Racine Public Library, the community receives $3.50 in return.

Your Racine Public Library staff is eager to help you. Stop by the main library, Mobile Library, call us at 262.636.9241, or check out the library's website: www.racinelibrary.info .
