Overdrive Releases Mobile Format

The Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (WPLC) is announcing the availability of a website format for their downloadable audiobook collection that enables users to access information from their mobile devices. The Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St., is a member of this consortium and offers its patrons access to this free service via the library's website.

Using any mobile device with Internet access, patrons can browse, place holds, and checkout any title from WPLC's free Overdrive service.

Patrons who use Android, Blackberry, or iPhone devices, and who have downloaded the OverDrive Media Console for that device, may download and listen to MP3 audiobooks on that device. Patrons with a Windows Mobile device, and who have downloaded the OverDrive Media Console for that device, may download and listen to both MP3 and WMA audiobooks.

For more information on how to download audiobooks, visit the Racine Public Library's website at www.racinelibrary.info and access the link "eBooks & eAudio". Assistance is also available by contacting the Racine Public LIbrary's Reference Desk at 262.636.9217.
