Storytelling and More at the Racine Public Library

The Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St, invites you to enjoy the following free program opportunities. Some registration is required. Contact the library at 262.636.9245 or visit www.racinelibrary.info to register.

AFTER SCHOOL STORYTIME is being offered for kids ages 4-10 on Tuesday, Oct 26 from 3:30-4:30pm. Storyteller Keiko Skow shares her favorite stories and her imaginative craft ideas and activities with those in attendance. All children must be accompanied by a parent. Registration is requested.

THE BEST PRESENTS AREN’T THINGS
Most people don’t need any more “stuff” in any category. So how do you give a gift that’s meaningful, personal, and memorable? No matter what your budget, you’ll get lots of ideas for unique, practical, and earth-friendly gifts for all ages at this program being held on Tuesday, Oct 26 at 6:30pm. Clutter Coach Kathi Miller will give us great ideas for gift-giving that will truly be appreciated. Registration is required.

FAMILY FUN NIGHTS are special activity nights for families looking for some quality time together. Held once a month on Thursday evenings at 6:30pm, they feature stories, crafts, activities and special guests. This month's family night, being held on Thursday, October 28, will feature a special visit by storyteller Auntie LuLu, mask making, and a pumpkin craft. Wearing of costumes is encouraged! The program is appropriate for kids ages 4-10 and their families. Younger siblings are welcome.

TIME SLIPS
Join the Racine Public Library as they host the Racine Art Museum's SPARK! Cultural Programming for People with Memory Loss on Monday, Nov 1 from 1:30-3:00pm and on Thursday, Nov. 11 from 10:30am -12:00pm. The library will present "Time Slips", a creative storytelling method that opens storytelling to everyone by replacing the pressure to remember with encouragement to imagine. "Time Slips” inspires people with memory loss to share the gifts of their imaginations. Together participants will create a group storytelling adventure.

This program is for those who are experiencing memory loss and their caregivers. Registration is required. Please contact Tricia Blasko, Racine Art Museum, at 262.636.9573 or email
tblasko@ramart.org to register.
