ONE RACINE, MANY STORIES: RACINE HISTORY MYSTERIES IV CAMP FOR KIDS

The Racine Public Library, Racine Heritage Museum and RAM's Wustum Museum are once again hosting Racine's History Mystery Creative Writing, History and Art Camp, a unique summer camp opportunity for youth ages 9-13. From July 18-22, young writers will uncover the truths and mysteries about what makes Racine special- it's people! Exploring and investigating our community's diverse cultural backgrounds, rich narratives, and wealth of cultures and traditions, participants will discover how history is passed down through the written and spoken word, and visual imagery. Young explorers will spend the week creating their own personal written and visual stories to be included in a collaborative time capsule, capturing memories and events of their "present" to share with people of tomorrow.

Working with archivists, librarians, artists, and museum/library staff adventurers will explore the Racine Heritage Museum, the Racine Public Library, and RAM's Wustum Museum. Each day will include exploration of the book writing and making process, games, fun activities, and other great adventures.

Campers will be spending each day from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at a different venue with the following schedule:
Monday-Wednesday, July 18-20, at Racine Heritage Museum and Racine Public Library
Thursday-Friday, July 21-22 - RAM's Wustum Museum

Parents and family members are invited to the Author's Corner on Friday, July 22 at 4pm for a special participant performance and the closing of the Time Capsule.

Registration and a camp fee of $95 are required. Win a free scholarship to attend Racine History Mysteries IV by writing a brief paragraph about why you want to attend the mystery camp. Send entries to:
