Author Visit and Tea Party at the Library

The Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St, is hosting a Teashop Girls Tea Party on Saturday, October 22 at 2:00pm in the Library Atrium, The event, for ages 7-12 and an adult,  will feature children's book author, Laura Schaefer, author of The Teashop Girls and The Secret Ingredient.  Ms. Schaefer will be signing copies of her books, which will be available for purchase.
Ms. Schaefer, who hails from Madison, WI, loves to write almost as much as she likes to drink tea. She got her start as a contributor to the University of Wisconsin's student paper The Daily Cardinal and went on to write regularly for The Princeton Review. Her series, The Teashop Girls, follows Annie Green and her friends in their adventures surrounding her grandmother's teashop, The Steeping Leaf.
In addition to both traditional and more kid friendly teas, participants will be treated with Ms. Schaefer's very own scones.  Crafts and other activities will top off this enjoyable afternoon.

Registration is required for this free program.  To register for the event, please contact the library at 262.636.9245 or visit the library's website at www.racinelibrary.info by Friday, October 21.

This program is part of the Racine Reads: Dream Big initiative sponsored by S.C. Johnson.
