Backyard Bird Feeding class to be held at the library

The Racine Public Library will be holding a backyard bird feeding workshop on July 12
at 6:30 p.m. Wild birds can be a wonderful addition to any backyard, and attracting them is
generally very easy. This program will outline some basic rules of thumb as you embark upon
your backyard bird feeding journey. Some of the topics covered will include habitat, seed and
non-seed based bird food, bird feeders, how to defeat squirrels, and how to attract other forms
of backyard wildlife.

Steve Ohs is an IT and development specialist at Lakeshores Library System. In a previous life,
he spent five years working in a wild bird feeding store with his grandfather. He was fortunate
enough to learn a few things, and hopes to pass this knowledge along to you.

This program is free and open to the public. To register, sign up at the Adult Department
Reference Desk or call 262-636-9217.
