Library Offers Book Discussion Groups

The Youth Services Department of the Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh Street, needs
a few good readers who will be entering grades 5 - 8 this fall and would like to participate in a
book discussion group during the school year.

Two book discussion groups are being offered, one for students in grades 5 & 6 and one for
students in grades 7 & 8. Both groups will meet monthly from October through May (except
December). The BookCh@ts Discussion Group for grades 5 & 6 will meet from 4:00-4:45pm the
first Wednesday of the month starting October 3. The TeenRe@ds Discussion Group for grades
7 & 8 will meet from 4:00-5:00pm on the second Monday of the month starting October 8.

Before each meeting, group members will need to read the juvenile fiction book selected
for discussion that month. Copies of each book will be provided for everyone in the group,
courtesy of the Friends of the Racine Public Library.

Advance registration is required and space is limited. To sign up, stop in the library or call
Maryann Owen at the Youth Serviced Department at (262) 636-9245.
