Through February 2, kids ages 5-12 are encouraged to play READ! BINGO with their families and earn a complimentary ticket to see High School Musical: the Ice Tour at the U.S. Cellular Ice Arena during Feb. 7-10, 2008. Families play together to complete a row of reading activities listed on a bingo sheet then turn it in to the library to receive a ticket voucher and their name in a drawing for a family grand prize. Bingo sheets are currently available in the Youth Services Dept. at the main library or at the Mobile Library.
From Jan. 2-Feb. 22 kids in grades 3-10 are invited to participate in the Milwaukee Buck's Library Reading Challenge and earn a complimentary ticket to a Buck's home game. Readers score points for each page read from a book, magazine, or newspaper. 500 points scored earns a free ticket voucher, a Milwaukee Buck's poster and a bookmark. If 750 points or more are scored, readers will have their name entered in a drawing for a Milwaukee Buck's autographed basketball and the chance to be randomly selected for halftime events during the attended game. Game cards are available in the Youth Services Dept at the main library or at the Mobile Library.
