The Youth Services Department of the Racine Public Library, 75 Seventh St., is looking for a few good readers who are in fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth grades and would like to participate in a book discussion group during the school year.
Two book discssion groups are being offered, one for fifth and sixth graders and one for seventh and eighth graders. Both groups will meet seven times during the school year, from October through May (except December). The discussion group for the fifth and sixth graders will meet the first Wednesday of the month from 4:00 - 4:45pm; their first meeting will be held October 5th. The group for seventh and eighth graders will meet the second Monday of the month from 4:00 - 5:00pm; their first meeting will be held October 10th.
Before each session, group members will need to read the book selected for discussion that month. Copies of each book will be provided for everyone in the group, courtesy of the Friends of the Racine Public Library.
Advance registration is required and space is limited. To sign up, stop in or call the Youth Services Department at 636-9245 and ask for Maryann Owen.
